Broken Spring Replacement

We handle the garage door emergencies other companies turn away.

Safe, Fast Spring Replacement for Homes and Businesses

A broken garage door spring isn’t just inconvenient — it’s dangerous. Springs hold enormous tension, and a snapped one can jam the door shut, cause it to slam down unexpectedly, or even cause injury if handled wrong. If you’ve noticed a loud bang from the garage, a door that won’t budge, or a visible gap in the spring above the door, it’s time to call for a replacement — not attempt one yourself.

We replace both torsion springs (mounted above the door) and extension springs (along the side tracks), matched to your door’s exact weight and size. Most replacements are done same-day, and we always check the rest of the hardware — cables, pulleys, rollers — while we’re there, since a broken spring often puts extra strain on nearby parts.

Benefits of service

If your garage door has been making noise, feels heavier than usual, or won’t open at all, don’t wait for it to fail completely. A spring under strain is a matter of when, not if.

Spring Replacement — What You Should Know

A few common questions before you call.

The most obvious sign is a loud bang from the garage — that's usually the spring snapping. Other signs include the door feeling unusually heavy, not opening at all, or a visible gap in the coil above the door.

We don't recommend it. Springs are under extreme tension and can cause serious injury if released incorrectly. This is a job for a trained technician with the right tools.

Most replacements are completed in under an hour once a technician is on-site, and we offer same-day appointments in most cases.

Springs have a lifespan — typically 7–10 years or around 10,000 open/close cycles. Age, weather, and lack of maintenance all speed up wear.

If your door has two springs and one breaks, we generally recommend replacing both, since the second is usually close behind and it keeps the door balanced.
